Andamanda Water Park in Phuket: Getting There by Bike & What to See

What it is and how much tickets cost
Andamanda is Phuket's biggest water park: it opened in 2022 on a 100,000 m² site in Kathu, right in the island's geographic center, and has been a top family destination ever since. It has 25 attractions, 12 extreme slides, Southeast Asia's longest lazy river (550 m), and a 10,000 m² wave pool.
Adult tickets (122 cm+) cost 1,800 ฿, kids 91–121 cm pay 1,200 ฿, and under-90 cm entry is free. The park is open daily 10:00–19:00; towels and lockers cost extra, 200–250 ฿ each. For extra comfort, Wave and Emerald cabanas and water villas with loungers and a fridge start at 2,500 ฿ per group.
What to see: five zones of Thai mythology
The whole park is built around the legend of the Great Andaman — Thai mythology of the sea and coastal spirits. It's split into five themed zones, and one corner recreates the famous Ko Tapu island from Phang Nga Bay, the "James Bond Island" many have only seen in photos.
There's a separate safe zone for little kids with low slides and shallow water, so bringing toddlers is no problem — just allow extra time for changing and snacks. Adults and teens should save their energy for the extreme slides with steep drops and speed — those have the longest queues — while the wave pool or a lazy float past all five zones suits anyone who just wants to relax.

Getting there by bike and by car
Andamanda sits in Kathu, the island's geographic center, so it's easy to reach from any coast. It's about 20 minutes on a straight road from Patong and Chalong, 15 minutes from Phuket Town, about 20 minutes from Rawai, 30 minutes from Kamala, and roughly 35 minutes from the airport. There are no mountain switchbacks on the way — the road is simple, so it also suits first-time automatic riders in Thailand.

Parking & entry
Parking at the water park is free and spacious — separate for cars and bikes, right by the entrance, and there's usually no queue getting in. It's easier to buy tickets online in advance: same price, no line at the counter, and towels and lockers work out cheaper than on-site. Entry involves a standard bag check that doesn't take long. Leave valuables and documents in a locker or your bike's storage box rather than carrying them on the slides.
Tips: when to go and what to bring
Andamanda is open-air, so weather and time of day strongly affect comfort and queue length.
- Arrive right at 10:00 opening — queues for popular slides are far shorter in the first hour
- Weekdays are calmer than weekends — Saturdays and Sundays get noticeably busier
- Bring a waterproof phone pouch and a dry bag for cash and documents
- In rainy season (May–October) showers usually last 20–40 minutes and don't stop the fun — but roads take about an hour to dry, so ride extra carefully for the first 10 minutes after rain
- Pack reef-safe sunscreen — out in the open on the water, you can burn fast even on a cloudy day
