Who it suits
A compact city scooter with ABS — a rarity at this price point. Good for visitors arriving during rainy season (May-October) who want confident braking on wet asphalt, and for anyone navigating heavy traffic in Patong and Phuket Town: the narrow NMAX slips easily between cars.
Patong rush hour
In the evening, Rat-U-Thit and the Patong seafront sit in traffic — on the compact NMAX you filter neatly past cars and find parking near the beach. Don't leave the bike at a red-and-white curb: that's towing and a fine of about 500 ฿.
Rain, May-October
During rainy season, downpours hit suddenly, and the road is slick for the first 10 minutes from an oil film. ABS keeps the wheel from locking under emergency braking — on the descent between Patong and Karon, that can literally save you.
To Big Buddha, Wat Chalong
A classic one-day route: the island's main temple, Wat Chalong, then the climb to the 45m Big Buddha with its view over the whole south. The switchback up is steep — the NMAX's 155cc is enough even two-up, and coming down is calmer with ABS.
